Children’s Harbor to Endow Max Osceola Jr. Scholarship Fund Through The Community Foundation of Broward

Thanks to a donation of nearly $156,000, Children’s Harbor will be able to fund scholarships for deserving children in the community in the name of the late Max Osceola Jr., the legendary Seminole Tribe of Florida leader.
The money was raised at a recent Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood tribute dinner honoring Osceola and attended by more than 500 guests and dignitaries.
The gift to Children’s Harbor will be endowed with The Community Foundation of Broward, which will award the scholarships annually.
The check presentation took place with the Osceola Family at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino as part of the unveiling of new memorabilia display commemorating Osceola’s life and significant community contributions. The display features his portrait, along with his signature leather jacket and cowboy boots.
“Max’s legacy transcended boundaries, leaving an indelible mark on our community,” Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood President Bo Guidry said. “Through his tireless efforts, he has uplifted countless lives and inspired positive change. Endowing this scholarship for children in our community who need it most embodies the values that Max personified—integrity, compassion and a relentless pursuit of a better future for all.”
Children’s Harbor President and CEO Tiffani Dhooge was joined by Children’s Harbor Board Chair Stephanie Parker at the check presentation.
“All of the kids that live on our campus have endured unspeakable trauma, including physical abuse, sexual abuse and human trafficking,” Dhooge said at the event. “It’s our job to meet them where they are, show them what it means to be loved well, create a space that helps them wrap their brain around what they’ve been through and move beyond that experience into a place of strength.”
