Come Join the Homestead-Miami Mariachi Conservatory for “Noche de Paz”

Explore Pinecrest Gardens at night as it transforms into a whimsical winter wonderland
As an ultimate tribute to the holidays, Pinecrest Gardens will soon be hosting its famed “Nights of Lights” festival. This ongoing experience is open from December 11 through January 1st and features some of the community’s best artists and performers. This year, it will even feature a holiday-themed maze and Bazaar, where visitors can get their hands on locally made gift items.
While some nights might feature a visit from Santa or a story from Mrs. Claus, other days of the festival will have a special performance with ties to the community. From music to ballet, you can expect to see a whole host of events throughout the festival, each one with its own purpose and background.
On Thursday, December 22nd, the Homestead-Miami Mariachi Conservatory will be performing for “Noche de Paz” in the historic Banyan Bowl at 7 pm.
Founded in 2015 under the esteemed “Mariachi Los Mora Arriaga,” the HMMC focuses on empowering children with farmworker backgrounds. Coming a long way from their modest upbringings, the students have performed on national TV and across the state of Florida—spreading a message of music, culture, and opportunity.
By participating in this event, they hope to expand their reach, spreading joyous messages of encouragement to those who can relate and to anyone that connects with their sound. Keeping tradition alive is so important for those who want to stay connected to their culture, and music is a beautiful way to do so.
Since this is an after-school program, we highly encourage the community to attend and show their support to the next generation. The world we live in today can feel a bit crazy at times, so it’s important to get back to our roots. It can be even more impactful when a younger generation wants to keep cultural customs alive.
However, guests will be able to participate no matter their background. After all, “Noche de Paz” is all about blending culture, language, and the holiday spirit into something that everyone can enjoy.
It’s a great way to take a break from all that holiday fuss and remember what this time of year is all about—spreading joy to others and spending time with the people we love. The fact that we get to do all that and support local youth in the community is just the star on top of the Christmas tree!
