Councilwoman Jenifer Bailey Seeks Local Artists for Artist in the Spotlight Program

Councilwoman Jenifer Bailey invites local artists to participate in the Artist in the Spotlight program, offering a special opportunity to showcase artwork that captures the essence of Homestead in celebration of the city’s anniversary. Selected artists will have the chance to display their artwork in the lobby of the Seminole Theatre for two months and host an artist reception on October 30th, 2024, at the Seminole Theatre. Additionally, the featured artist will be recognized at the October Homestead City Council Meeting and given the opportunity to promote their work to the local community.
“The purpose of our Artist in the Spotlight program is to shine a light on our local artists and bring people together,” said Councilwoman Bailey, a passionate supporter of the arts. “We want to engage the community by providing a space for artists to display their work and contribute to the rich culture of Homestead.”
The Artist in the Spotlight program welcomes submissions from artists of all mediums, including individual artists, art clubs, and schools that captures the essence of Homestead in celebration of the city’s anniversary. The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, October 22, 2024. Artists from Broward, Miami-Dade, and Monroe Counties are encouraged to apply, with preference given to those who live in or near Homestead.
