FPL and United HomeCare Help Seniors Prepare for Hurricane Season

More than 200 seniors across Miami-Dade County received hurricane meal kits by Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) and United HomeCare. Each of the meal kits contain water and a three-day supply of shelf-stable foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner should seniors be unable to leave their homes or receive home-delivered meals after a storm impacts the area.
Volunteers from FPL and United HomeCare will help distribute the kits. The hurricane preparedness kits include three days of shelf-stable food, water and snacks for seniors who may not be able to leave their homes or receive home-delivered meals after a storm impacts the area. The kits also include a storm preparedness guide that provides resources for seniors.
