Right Here, Right Now Comedy Fundraiser: Celebrating ALS Heroes in South Florida

Join us on June 29 for an extraordinary event that combines laughter, compassion, and community support. The “Right Here, Right Now” Comedy Fundraiser supports ALS Organizations in South Florida. Join us in making a difference for individuals with ALS and their families.

This event, organized by Team High Octane and Miami Improv Comedy Theater, aims to honor ALS heroes while providing much-needed support for those affected by this debilitating disease.

ALS: The Unseen Battle
ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. In the United States, a person succumbs to ALS every 90 minutes. Unfortunately, there is no cure for this condition currently.

In addition, most individuals affected by ALS are between 40 and 70, but the number of younger people being diagnosed is growing. Hence, this event holds special significance as we unite to support Julian Rodriguez, a 38-year-old Miami native with ALS.

The Right Here, Right Now Grant
Inspired by Julian’s resilience and determination, he and his wife, Maria Alejandra, have established the Right Here, Right Now grant. This initiative aims to assist and support other ALS heroes within the community. The grant’s name reflects Julian’s philosophy of embracing life to the fullest, even amid unimaginable challenges.

Comedy For A Cause
To celebrate the launch of the grant and raise funds for ALS awareness, five talented Miami comedians will come together for a special show at the Miami Improv Comedy Theater. Join us for an evening filled with laughter and camaraderie, featuring performances by Eli Rodriguez, Brittany Brave, Oriel Rodriguez, “Mercado de la Fortuna,” and Milton Grenadillo.

The Importance Of Awareness
ALS affects approximately 30,000 people in the United States, with 5,600 new cases diagnosed yearly. Early diagnosis is crucial as the disease progresses rapidly, and life expectancy typically ranges from 2 to 5 years. Increased awareness and support expedite diagnosis and ensure timely access to necessary treatments and care.
