Florida Power & Light: A National Model of Excellence, Innovation, and Reliability
Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) has once again been nationally recognized for its commitment to excellence and innovation in electric service. The company received the 2025 ReliabilityOne® National Reliability Award and the Reliability Value Award from PA Consulting, honors that highlight its leadership in reliability, value, and customer-focused innovation across Florida.
The recognition comes after a year of outstanding results. FPL serves more than six million customer accounts statewide, achieving service reliability that is 59% better than the national average, while maintaining electric bills significantly below the U.S. average. In 2024, the company recorded its best reliability performance in history, continuing a decade-long streak of ranking within the top 10% of the nation’s most reliable electric utilities.
This achievement reflects FPL’s long-term investment in modernizing its energy grid and deploying smart technology to improve service. More than 227,000 intelligent devices are now installed across the grid, helping prevent outages before they occur and enabling faster restoration times. Since 2019, FPL has completed over 3,200 Storm Secure Underground Program projects, moving neighborhood power lines underground to strengthen infrastructure against Florida’s
severe weather.

This double national honor underscores FPL’s leadership, innovation, and customer dedication. It marks the eighth time in eleven years the company has received the prestigious ReliabilityOne® National Reliability Award, and its first-ever national Reliability Value Award.
