Homestead Hosts Annual “Race to the 4th!” Independence Day Bash
WHAT: Race to the 4th!
WHEN: Tuesday, July 4, 2017 6PM – 10PM
WHERE: Homestead-Miami Speedway 1 Ralph Sanchez Speedway Blvd. Homestead, FL 33035
Homestead’s annual “Race to the 4th!” Independence Day bash is back for the eighth year in a row at the Homestead-Miami Speedway. On Tuesday, July 4, 2017 from 6PM to 10PM, a sea of people, awash in reds, whites, and blues, will descend upon the track—being treated to live music, food trucks, and kids’ activities. Last year’s event boasted a record-breaking 25,000 attendees and this year is expected to bring even more patriots of all ages to enjoy the excitement.
Local staple, Main Highway, will bring classic rock and roll sounds all night long, covering everything from The Animals to ZZ Top. Great vocals and harmonies guarantee you’ll be dancing in the streets until it’s time for the grand finale. Plus, up and coming country artist Ricky Valido will play a mix of classic and original songs along with his band “The Hialeah Hillbillies.” This salute to all things America will culminate with the best fireworks show in South Florida—a dazzling display of pyrotechnics synced to a mix of pop hits and patriotic tunes.
For anyone with an empty stomach, a plethora of food trucks will be on hand offering a variety of tasty summer treats along with refreshing beverages to wash it all down. Kids will have plenty to occupy themselves, including midway style amusement rides and games.
The Champions Club, which offers a preferred view of the epic fireworks display from above, will play host to a special VIP Event. A limited number of $20 tickets for guests 13 years old and up will be available for purchase starting June 12th at the City of Homestead Parks and Recreation Department, 350 SE 6thAvenue, Homestead, FL 33030. Tickets for children from 7 to 12 years old are $10 and children who are under 6 years old can get into the Champions Club for free with a ticket.
Tickets include VIP parking inside the stadium and food and soft drinks served inside the Champions Club. Plus, the pie-eating contest will be back for the third year. Get ready to battle it out with the returning champion, who remains undefeated despite some fierce food competition during last year’s event.
