With a newly expanded fleet, from February 1, Fort Lauderdale’s unique Water Taxi service is offering a monthly unlimited pass for $99. Therefore, riders can hop on and off at one of the 15 spots along the route, which includes great restaurants and bars, the beach, shopping malls and more, around Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood.

According to Philip Burroughs, Water Taxi’s Sales & Marketing Director, “If customers want to go to dinner or lunch or just go to the beach on separate days, they can do it as they wish for an entire month for almost the cost of three individual daily tickets.” Taking into account that daily tickets are $28 per day, this offer provides frequent riders a favorable pricing option of around $3.40 a day.

And now, with two mid-sized boats added to the service—completing a fleet of 14 boats—the company is satisfying its increased customer demand extending the service to over 100 new riders. “Increasing capacity has allowed us to cut the waiting time substantially between stops, so if you are in the middle of the route, you are going to see a boat go by about every 15 minutes in both directions. If you are waiting just for one direction, the longest waiting time will be 25 to 35 minutes,” said Philip.

By using the Water Taxi, you can also avoid the traffic and parking headaches now common in Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale areas.  According to Philip Burroughs, “visitors and commuters can park their cars around one of the stops for a price of approximately $5 all day, depending on the stop, and hop on to one of our Water Taxis for a nice boat ride while either commuting to work, shopping or having fun with family and friends.”

The company is interested in increasing its offering to the growing Latino community of South Florida, “we definitely are working on ways to market to the Latino Community, to help them out, to offer local specials, and make them aware of our service as much as possible. Especially if they are new to the area, what better way to see Fort Lauderdale and to learn about it than from a Water Taxi,” he added.
