ATTENTION PATRONS
Pursuant to the Emergency Authority under the Governor’s Executive Order 17- 235, Miami-Dade County waives all County permitting requirements for the repair or replacement of existing fences in single family residential homes damaged as a result of Hurricane Irma.
The waiver provides that the repair or replacement of the fence must be in the same location and the same material and design as the damaged fence. This waiver does not apply to those fences which are used as a pool barrier; such fences will still require a building permit be obtained.
Please note that this is a waiver of the requirement to obtain a permit only but does not waive any other requirement of the Florida Building Code or any other law, regulation or code including zoning and planning.
Any person relying on this waiver shall be responsible for maintaining the necessary records to demonstrate that the work was completed, contracted for or that a substantial amount of materials were purchased during the period that the waiver was authorized.
This waiver shall remain effective until such time that the Board of County Commissioners can consider formal action regarding this matter or the timeframe set forth in the Executive Order expires.
