Orange Bowl Field at Harris Field Park Groundbreaking: City of Homestead and Orange Bowl Partner to Upgrade Facilities

The City of Homestead invites its residents to celebrate the groundbreaking of Orange Bowl Field at Harris Field Park (1034 NE 8th Street, Homestead, FL 33030) on Thursday, December 15th at 3:00PM.  Thanks to a partnership between the Orange Bowl and the City of Homestead, Harris Field will be upgraded to a state-of-the-art facility with new amenities for both fans and players.

Attendees will enjoy a spectacular presentation of local football teams, remarks from community leaders, and catered refreshments.  Members of the Homestead City Council, the Orange Bowl Committee, and other distinguished dignitaries will also be in attendance.

The new Orange Bowl Field at Harris Field Park will boast new artificial turf, a new scoreboard, new fencing, new goal posts, and a new sound system.  Plus, additional facility upgrades such as renovated locker rooms, restrooms, press box, and concession stand.  Orange Bowl Field and the surrounding area will also receive new concrete walkways, windscreens, and upgraded landscaping.  The improvements will allow for more community use of Harris Field Park.

The Orange Bowl Committee was created in 1935 with the mission of generating tourism for South Florida through an annual football game and supporting events. The non-profit, sports organization that promotes and serves the South Florida community has grown to 360 members since its inception. It has expanded beyond Greater Miami to become a cornerstone of the entire South Florida area.
