Thousands Walk Together in Miami And Light The Path to Cancer Cures
MIAMI, FL (October 26, 2016) — To help raise awareness and important funds to accelerate innovative, life-saving treatments for cancer patients, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS)Southern Florida Chapter will celebrate its 2016 Miami Light The Night® Walk on November 5th, 6:00 p.m. at Bayfront Park in Miami.
Light The Night is LLS’s annual walk and fundraising event, and the nation’s night to pay tribute andbrings light to the darkness of cancer through hope, research and support for patients, families, friends, doctors, nurses, researchers, colleagues and care givers. Friends, families and co-workers form fundraising teams and millions of consumers help by donating at retail outlets. These efforts culminate in inspirational, memorable evening walks in nearly 200 communities across North America each fall.
Participants carry illuminated lanterns – white for survivors, red for supporters and gold in memory of loved ones lost to cancer. Anyone big, small, young or old can shine a light on the importance of finding cures and ensuring access to treatments for blood cancer patients.
