Florida Shines as America’s Second Most Popular Honeymoon Destination

Newlyweds across the United States are setting their sights on the Sunshine State. A new study from The Resorts Collection reveals that Florida ranks as the second most popular honeymoon destination in the nation, attracting couples with its year-round sunshine, affordability, and wide range of romantic experiences.
Analyzing Google search data between April 2024 and March 2025, the study reviewed search trends from all 50 states to identify where American couples plan their post-wedding escapes. With an average of 7,503 monthly searches, Florida stands out as the top mainland destination — second only to Hawaii, which received 18,004 monthly searches.
Florida: A Romantic Escape for Every Couple
Florida’s appeal lies in its diversity. From the romantic beaches of the Keys to the luxury resorts of Miami Beach and the charming coastal towns of the Gulf Coast, couples can tailor their honeymoon to fit any dream getaway. The state’s affordability compared to Hawaii also plays a major role in attracting newlyweds seeking a balance between relaxation and adventure.
“Florida continues to be a favorite because it offers something for everyone — beautiful beaches, vibrant nightlife, and unforgettable experiences, all under the sun,” said Florian Pauly, Co-founder of The Resorts Collection.
America’s Top Honeymoon Hotspots
According to the study, Hawaii, Florida, and California make up the top three honeymoon destinations in 2025.
– Hawaii leads with pristine beaches and luxury resorts.
– Florida follows closely as the most popular continental choice.
– California ranks third, offering scenic wine country retreats and Pacific Coast adventures.
Rounding out the top five are Colorado, known for its romantic mountain getaways, and Alaska, attracting adventurous couples with breathtaking wilderness and northern lights views.
A Growing Trend Beyond Beaches
Pauly noted that the data reflects a growing interest in destinations that offer unique experiences, not just beautiful scenery. “Travelers are looking for adventures and memorable moments. It’s not always about sandy beaches anymore — it’s about finding places that tell a story,” he said. With its combination of tropical allure, cultural diversity, and accessibility, Florida continues to shine as a top choice for couples beginning their new lives together.
