Miami-Dade Animal Services to celebrate International Dog Day with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue HELP Team

Miami-Dade County Animal Services (Animal Services) is excited to announce a new collaboration with the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) Health Emergency Life Protection (HELP) Program team to celebrate International Dog Day on Monday, August 26, 2024. This unique event, running from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., will feature the presentation and demonstrations of the HELP Program, including the newly added Fur Baby CPR (CPR for dogs).
The HELP Program teaches essential lifesaving skills, including adult and pediatric hands-only cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) operations, early stroke recognition, stopping the bleed, and managing blocked airways emergencies for adults, children, infants, and pets. This initiative aims to spread vital knowledge and empower the community with the skills needed to save lives in emergencies.
“We are incredibly excited to partner with the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue HELP Team for this special event,” said Annette Jose, Director of Animal Services. “Providing lifesaving training for both people and their beloved pets aligns perfectly with our mission to support the well-being of our community. We look forward to a day filled with fun, learning, and engagement.”
“Joining forces with Animal Services will allow our HELP Program team to share lifesaving information and techniques, all while engaging with our community,” said MDFR Fire Chief Ray Jadallah. “Pets are important members of the family and learning how to carry our lifesaving efforts, in case of an emergency, helps empower our community.”
The event will be held at the Pet Adoption and Protection Center, located at 3599 NW 79TH Ave, Doral, Fl 33122, and will feature a team of knowledgeable personnel from the MDFR HELP Program team. Demonstrations will be provided throughout the day to create an informative and festive atmosphere for all attendees.
This collaboration promises to be an enriching experience for pet lovers and the broader community, bringing together essential training and a celebration of our furry friends on International Dog Day.
