Newly renovated beach at Larry and Penny Thompson Memorial Park and Campground enhances community resilience

There are plenty of spots to spread out a beach towel and relax or swim, while practicing social distancing and other Miami-Dade County New Normal guidelines, at the newly renovated beach at Larry and Penny Thompson Memorial Park and Campground, located at 12451 SW 184 Street, Miami.
The new development was completed by the-Miami-County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department, which operates the park. Updates include restoration of the lake’s beach area that includes new sand, native landscape, and a new park sign, as well as enhancements to the freshly painted beach concession building and restrooms.
