Unveiling of Buddy Bench at Pine Villa Elementary School Sponsored by Hollywood Kia: Promoting Kindness and Inclusion in the Community
My Buddy Bench Project, “Be Buddy not a bully!” is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering kindness, empathy, resilience, and the importance of community, is pleased to announce the unveiling of a Buddy Bench at Pine Villa Elementary School. This initiative has been made possible through the generous sponsorship of Hollywood Kia, a leading automotive dealership in the community.
The Buddy Bench, a vibrant and welcoming addition to Pine Villa Elementary’s playground. It symbolizes a commitment to fostering friendships and creating an inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported. When a student sits on the Buddy Bench, it serves as a signal to their peers that they are in need of a friend or someone to talk to, promoting empathy and understanding among students.

“We are excited to introduce the Buddy Bench to Pine Villa Elementary”, says Victoria Portela, Co-Founder of My Buddy Bench Project. “I was that elementary school student not so long ago and I experienced what it feels like to be socially isolated, and at times, bullied. I want to help other kids feel safe and make friends. With the help of a Buddy Bench and Kindness Ambassadors, we can make a positive and life-changing difference.”

The My Buddy Bench Project’s logo showcases Buddy, our first Kindness Ambassador, who also holds the prestigious title of a Certified Therapy Dog. With pride, he embodies the role of our lovable Mascot.
The unveiling ceremony, scheduled for April 19th at 9:00AM, will feature speeches from representatives of Monarch All Health – Dr. William Presswood, Hollywood Kia, and Pine Villa Elementary School. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the importance of the My Buddy Bench Project initiative and how it contributes to creating a positive school climate.
