3rd Annual FTL A21 Walk for Freedom to Help Raise Awareness of Human Trafficking

Register Today to Walk on October 19th
On October 19, 2024, thousands of people from cities all around the world will walk to raise awareness of human trafficking on behalf of A21, one of the largest, international non-profit organizations in existence that solely fights against human trafficking. Globally, these walks have been taking place since 2014, but this year marks Fort Lauderdale’s third annual (3rd) Walk for Freedom, commencing at the Broward County Clerk of Courts at 8am on Saturday, October 19th.
“Florida has the 3rd most human trafficking cases in our Country after California and Texas,” says Fort Lauderdale’s Chapter Walk Host and Founder, Sheena Kelly, Esquire. “Broward County has the 2nd most human trafficking cases in our State. Once I learned of these horrifying statistics, I knew I had to do my part to raise awareness about this reprehensible issue happening in our community and in our backyards. Our hope is that this Walk will help prevent local youths from becoming future victims. When young people have awareness and knowledge of what human trafficking looks like (and how to report it), they are less likely to become a victim in the first place,” says Kelly.
The A21 Walk for Freedom is not just a Walk—it’s a movement to shine a light on the dark side of the Sunshine State. Nonetheless, on Saturday, October 19th, Southeast Florida residents will hit the streets together, walking in single file, dressed in black, and distributing flyers with vital information about how to spot, report, and thwart human trafficking.
