Homestead Marks 77 Years of Rodeo Tradition with Championship Weekend
The excitement, tradition, and heart-pounding action of South Florida’s most iconic western event are set to return with the 77th Annual Homestead Championship Rodeo, promising a full weekend of activities that celebrate rodeo heritage, community pride, and unforgettable entertainment.
The festivities officially begin on Saturday, January 24, 2026, with the Miss Rodeo Homestead Pageant, starting at 5:00 p.m. at the Harris Field Pavilion, located at 1034 NE 8 Street, Homestead, Florida. The pageant, themed “Boots and Bling,” will blend western tradition with elegance as contestants compete for the title of Miss Rodeo Homestead. Adding a special local touch, Homestead Vice Mayor Jenifer Bailey will serve as one of the judges helping crown the next ambassador of the rodeo.
Rodeo action kicks into high gear on Friday, January 30, with the popular “Tough Enough to Wear Pink” night. Gates will open at 6:00 p.m., with the performance beginning at 8:00 p.m. This special evening proudly supports the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association’s (PRCA) Wrangler Tough Enough to Wear Pink program and the Susan G. Komen Foundation, raising awareness for breast cancer research. Fans are encouraged to wear pink while enjoying an electrifying night of rodeo competition.
The celebration continues on Saturday, January 31, starting with the beloved Homestead Rodeo Parade at 9:30 a.m. The parade will begin at Keys Gate Charter K–12, located at 2000 SE 28th Avenue, Homestead, and will feature colorful floats, marching bands, and community organizations, offering family-friendly fun and a strong sense of hometown pride.
Following the parade, rodeo events resume at the arena, with gates opening at 12:00 p.m. and the performance starting at 2:00 p.m. Saturday’s rodeo is designated as Dedication Day, featuring a special tribute honoring late members of the Homestead Rodeo Association and individuals from the local community whose contributions and legacy continue to shape the event.
Saturday evening will conclude with the traditional Homestead Rodeo Prime Rib Dinner & Dance, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Nearly as old as the rodeo itself, this cherished local tradition brings the community together for an evening of dining and dancing. Tickets are limited due to venue capacity, and early purchase is strongly encouraged.
The weekend concludes on Sunday, February 1, with Wrangler National Patriot Day. Gates open at 12:00 p.m., and the performance begins at 2:00 p.m., honoring America’s wounded and fallen service members and their families. Attendees are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue as a show of patriotism and gratitude.
From pageantry and parades to world-class rodeo competition, the 77th Annual Homestead Championship Rodeo promises a weekend filled with pride, purpose, and western tradition. For tickets, a full schedule of events, and updates, visit www.homesteadrodeo.com.
