Floridians Are Among America’s Most Workaholics, Especially in Miami-Dade and Broward
A recent study shows that Florida ranks among the most workaholic states in the U.S., with only 3.46% of workers reporting recent temporary absences from work between 2014 and 2023. This is 5.6% below the national average of 3.66%, reflecting the strong work ethic of Floridians, especially in Miami-Dade and Broward.
The research, conducted by Plus AI, analyzed employment data from the U.S. Census Bureau to determine which states had the lowest rates of temporary work absences for vacations, illness, maternity leave, family reasons, or bad weather. In Florida, 165,212 out of 4.78 million workers reported taking temporary leave, highlighting the consistent dedication of employees in Miami-Dade and Broward.
Pennsylvania tops the list of the most workaholic states with 3.31% of workers taking temporary leave, while Hawaii ranks last, with 5.49% of employees reporting absences, 50% above the national average. Florida’s figures show that local workers, particularly in Miami-Dade and Broward, maintain high attendance and productivity, supporting the region’s economic growth.
