Miami-Dade Welcomes the 2025–2026 School Year with Pride and Excellence

On Thursday, August 14, thousands of students will return to Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS), a district that consistently proves academic excellence is no accident, but the result of an entire community working together.

The start of this school year comes with exciting news: the Florida Department of Education has once again awarded M-DCPS an “A” rating for the 2024–2025 academic year.
The numbers speak for themselves:
– 64% of schools earned an A
– 22% earned a B
– 14% earned a C
– No schools received an F
In total, 99% of M-DCPS schools achieved top ratings. This outstanding performance reflects the dedication of students, teachers, administrators, and families who work hand in hand to uphold an educational standard that serves as a model across the state.

This year, planning comes with some welcome financial relief: Florida’s Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday runs the entire month of August, from Friday, August 1 through Sunday, August 31. During this time, clothing, footwear, and backpacks priced at $100 or less, school supplies priced at $50 or less, and personal computers for home use priced at $1,500 or less will be exempt from state and local sales taxes. It’s the perfect opportunity to stock up without straining the family budget.
