Early Voting for Miami-Dade Primary Election Begins Monday
Miami-Dade County voters will have two weeks to cast their ballots ahead of the August 18, 2026, Primary Election. Early voting begins Monday, August 3, and will continue through Sunday, August 16, at 23 locations across the county.
Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections Alina Garcia reminded residents that early voting allows eligible voters to cast a ballot at any participating site, rather than waiting until Election Day to visit their assigned precinct.
During the first week, from Monday, August 3, through Friday, August 7, voting sites will operate from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. On Saturday, August 8, and Sunday, August 9, locations will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
From Monday, August 10, through Friday, August 14, the hours will shift to 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. During the final weekend, Saturday, August 15, and Sunday, August 16, voters may cast their ballots from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The 23 early voting sites include public libraries, government buildings and community centers in Coral Gables, Hialeah, Homestead, Miami Beach, Miami Gardens, North Miami, Westchester, Kendall, Aventura and Doral. Additional locations include Florida International University, the Stephen P. Clark Government Center and the Supervisor of Elections headquarters.
Each early voting site will also have a secure, staffed ballot intake station where voters can return completed vote-by-mail ballots during operating hours.
The deadline to request a vote-by-mail ballot is Thursday, August 6. Garcia warned that voters who used vote-by-mail during the last presidential election must submit a new request if they have not renewed it.
“We want to make voting as easy and convenient as possible. Every voter should participate to keep our democracy strong and vibrant,” Garcia said.
Vote-by-mail ballots may be returned by mail without postage, at early voting locations, at the Elections Department headquarters in Doral or at the Downtown branch office. All ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, August 18.
Election officials encourage voters to review the sample ballot, confirm identification requirements and check voting hours before visiting a location.
