South Florida Favorite “Brazilian Voices” Celebrates the Amazon Rainforest
All-Female Vocal Group Performs at Aventura Arts & Cultural Center Saturday, Sept. 14
The Aventura Summer Concert Series presented by The City of Aventura concludes with the acclaimed female vocal group Brazilian Voices in AMAZONAS: The Rhythm of Nature performing on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 8 p.m. at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center.
Brazilian Voices is known for the delightful fluidity and warmth of their singing. Their show will highlight the group’s noted strengths, which include powerful interpretation by female voices, rich bossa nova harmonies and a passionate approach.
“This is a wonderful, unique program that brings (people) closer to Brazilian culture and helps build friendship between the U.S. and Brazil,” said Nássara Thomé, Deputy Consul – Head of Cultural and Educational Affairs – Consulate General of Brazil in Miami.
The AMAZONAS concert at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center will include a poetic tribute to Brazilian composers Tom Jobim, Dori Caymy, Sergio Mendes and Marisa Monte, among others. It also will convey the critical ecological importance of the Amazon Rainforest, as well as impart the threats to its existence. Through music and screen projected images during the show by the Brazilian artist Ernesto Kunde, the group will also spread awareness about other endangered ecosystems worldwide, like the Florida Everglades.
Adding to the evening is an exhibit by Brazilian visual artist Clara Piquet in the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center lobby on the night of the show that includes themes focused on Brazilian indigenous communities and the environment.
