5th Annual Backpacks & Supplies Giveaway Event
This past Saturday, District 7 School Board Member, Lubby Navarro, held her fifth Annual Backpack and School Supplies Giveaway Event at the Devon Aire K-8 Center.
Lubby Navarro – District 7 School Board Member:
“I want to make sure that our students are ready. We have many needy families and students in Kendall, our community, and many of them cannot afford to buy a backpack and school supplies.”
Providing children with supplies for the upcoming school year, the event also had fun activities as well as valuable information for parents.
Prominent figures of the community also got involved, such as Miami-Dade Public Schools Superintendent Alberto Carvalho.

“I think members of our community and the partners that we have in our school system, led by school board member Lubby Navarro, are doing outstanding work by bringing backpack and supplies to provide, by frankly, for some of the neediest children and families in our community; it’s a great day, great event.”
