Second Annual Aviles Street Festival: A Celebration of History and Culture
In the heart of St. Augustine, the oldest city in the United States, lies Aviles Street—a historic gem filled with centuries of stories, traditions, and charm. This September, the cobblestone path will once again come alive with music, art, and flavors during the Second Annual Aviles Street Festival, celebrating St. Augustine’s Founders Day and the arrival of Pedro Menendez from Aviles, Spain.
The festival will take place Friday, September 5th, from 4 PM to 9 PM, during First Friday Art Walk, and Saturday, September 6th, from 12 PM to 9 PM, between King Street and Bridge Street. For two days, historic buildings, museums, restaurants, and art galleries will come together to create a vibrant cultural experience for all ages.

Step Back in Time
Walking down Aviles Street during the festival feels like stepping into another era. Enjoy plein air artists, live music, flamenco dancers, sword dueling demonstrations, and guided visits to iconic museums like the Spanish Military Hospital Museum, the Ximenez-Fatio House, and the Father Miguel O’Reilly House Museum. Guests can also peek inside historic courtyards and buildings currently under restoration, offering a rare glimpse into the city’s architectural heritage.
Food, Flavors, and Shopping
Between activities, indulge in delicious dishes from Nonna’s Trattoria, creative flavors at Forgotten Tonic, authentic waffles at Gaufres & Goods, and end your stroll with a sweet treat from Peace Pie. The street’s boutiques and art galleries will also be open, featuring unique finds at The Plum Shop, Acacia Tree Gallery, Bouvier’s Leather & Maps, McKenney’s Mithril Mark, Goldsmith, The BART Art & Wine Bar, and Ken Jensen Pottery.
