Fourth of July Celebrations Take Center Stage Across Miami-Dade
Patriotic spirit will shine across South Florida as Miami-Dade County invites residents and visitors to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States with free events, live music, family activities, outdoor attractions, and fireworks displays throughout the holiday weekend.
This year’s celebration marks a historic milestone: 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, the document that established the foundation of the United States. To honor the occasion, communities across Miami-Dade will host special events designed to bring families together and celebrate the nation’s history.
Miami-Dade County government offices will be closed on Friday, July 3, including all County offices, the Miami-Dade Public Library System, and the Pet Adoption and Protection Center. Some services will operate on modified schedules. Miami-Dade Transit will run on a reduced service schedule, while garbage collection will be suspended and disposal facilities will be closed. Recycling collection will continue as scheduled.
The main celebration will take place at Tropical Park, where the County’s annual Fourth of July Celebration will feature a special America 250 edition. Families can expect entertainment, community activities, and a spectacular fireworks show lighting up the Miami sky in honor of this historic anniversary.
In Downtown Miami, Bayfront Park’s Fourth of July Celebration will return with a large-scale event overlooking Biscayne Bay. The celebration is expected to draw families, residents, and visitors looking to enjoy one of Miami’s most iconic Independence Day gatherings.
Miami Beach will also host a family-friendly celebration in North Beach at Altos del Mar Park, located at 76th Street and Collins Avenue. The event will feature live music, a family zone, and opportunities for residents and tourists to celebrate by the ocean.
In Coral Gables, the holiday tradition continues with a free fireworks celebration on the grounds of the historic Biltmore Hotel, one of the area’s most beloved Fourth of July events.
For those who prefer outdoor activities, several County attractions will remain open, including Zoo Miami and Fruit & Spice Park. Deering Estate will offer $8 general admission, and through the Blue Star Museums program, active-duty military personnel and up to five family members can receive free admission throughout the summer.
County officials are also urging the public to celebrate safely. Residents are encouraged to follow fireworks safety guidelines, properly dispose of charcoal and fireworks materials, protect pets during loud celebrations, and review boating and waterways guidelines if spending the day on the water. Boat owners can also sign up for Miami-Dade Marina Alerts to receive text messages about boat ramp closures and reopenings.
Miami-Dade also reminds residents to follow the “Three A’s” of crime prevention: Be Aware of your surroundings, Be Alert to suspicious people and vehicles, and Avoid dangerous situations.
With celebrations across parks, beaches, landmarks, and cultural spaces, Miami-Dade is inviting the entire community to wear red, white, and blue, gather with loved ones, and take part in a historic Fourth of July celebration honoring 250 years of the United States.
