Miami-Dade: The Top Opportunity for Entrepreneurs in the U.S.
Miami-Dade County has officially been ranked the #1 county in the nation for small business growth, according to a new report by Clarify Capital highlighted by the Miami Herald. With nearly 4,900 new business applications per 100,000 residents last year, the county has positioned itself as a premier destination for entrepreneurs.
Mayor Daniella Levine Cava celebrated this milestone, crediting her administration’s bold investments in entrepreneurship, innovation, and workforce development, including her flagship Strive305 program.
“Miami-Dade leads the nation in small business creation because we’re investing in the people and ideas that drive our economy forward,” said Mayor Levine Cava. “We want every entrepreneur — from startup founders to neighborhood mom-and-pop shops — to have the resources and training they need to thrive.”
Since its launch in 2021, Strive305 has supported more than 75,000 small businesses and entrepreneurs, many of them women- and minority-owned, by providing access to capital, technical assistance, digital tools, and mentorship opportunities. In addition, the county has made historic investments in infrastructure, housing, and transportation, creating opportunities for local contractors and suppliers to grow alongside Miami-Dade’s economy.
The report also highlights Broward County as ranking third nationally, proving that South Florida is a major hub for entrepreneurship, offering unmatched opportunities for innovation, creativity, and economic growth.
Mayor Levine Cava emphasized that the county’s efforts go beyond simply helping entrepreneurs open businesses — they focus on long-term sustainability and success:
“It’s not just about starting a business — it’s about building a business that lasts,” she said. “We are working every day to ensure our entrepreneurs have the tools and support they need to grow for years to come.”
With initiatives like Strive305 and a rapidly expanding economy, Miami-Dade stands as the ultimate destination for anyone looking to launch or grow a business in one of the most dynamic markets in the United States.
