Miami’s The Berry Farm is gearing up for a festive holiday season with lots of activities for the whole family. Read on to find out what’s in store!
For the past two years, The Berry Farm has brought a taste of the country to residents of South Florida through field trips, festivals, and seasonal activities. Since its opening in 2020, the farm has been very responsive to community feedback, going above and beyond to become a well-rounded family-friendly outing spot.
In an interview with Go Latinos Magazine, Erika Martinez-Alonso, Director of Communications and Events Management at The Berry Farm, spoke about the ongoing expansion efforts, stating that the farm wanted “to bring the community a more enriched agri-tourism experience,” and also “offer more activities, parking, food options, and dynamic learning opportunities for the students and teachers who would visit for field trips.”
To this end, The Berry Farm has brought to fruition a number of improvements to their space, including a fully shaded lumber playground and kangaroo bounce floor, a 15K sq. ft. turf field, a 24-piece obstacle course so the kids can scramble and play all they like, as well as two party pavilions, and a BBQ and taco barn, offering some of the tastiest food around. They’ve gone to great lengths to ensure accessibility for all guests, adding an ADA walking path, leading to key areas of the farm, so everyone can enjoy the fresh air and country feeling.
What makes this destination so special is its ability to provide visitors with an experience that is both fun and meaningful. “At The Berry Farm, you may take out your phone to snap a photo, but ultimately, you are actively engaged with your family and/or friends, enjoying nature and time spent with those you love and care for,” said Martinez-Alonso. “We are a space where life-long, generational memories are made.”
The farm offers a number of activities and events throughout the year, from hayrides and markets to seasonal produce-picking and festivals, and is also one of the most Instagrammable spots in Miami thanks to the sunflower field which blooms year-round, and other key cyclical elements like themed-photo ops, corn maze, and more. “The seasonality of our space allows guests to feel the magic of each season, regardless of the actual climate in Miami,” said Martinez-Alonso.
Throughout December and into January, The Berry Farm is hosting is first-ever Berry Bright Winter Nights, an after-hours special event, between 6:30 pm and 10:30 pm on select dates, featuring a multitude of holiday activities and spectacles. Take a photo with Santa Claus, stroll along the Berry Bright Winter Lights walking path, marvel in the beauty of (artificial) snowfall, or kick back and enjoy an outdoor movie with popcorn and hot cocoa.
The Berry Farm is a local treasure; a destination every South Florida resident must experience and as such, a one-of-a-kind community space to enjoy. Events like Berry Bright Winter Nights are just one of many to be on the lookout for from The Berry Farm.
