“A Night in D9 2026” Brings Community Together to Celebrate Students and Educators
The South Miami community is invited to attend A Night in District 9 (D9) 2026, a free, family-friendly celebration recognizing the achievements of students, educators, and community partners across Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ District 9. The event will take place on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Coral Reef Senior High School, located at 10101 SW 152nd Street, Miami, FL 33157.
Hosted by Luisa Santos, Miami-Dade School Board Member for District 9, the event marks its fifth annual edition, continuing a growing tradition that strengthens the connection between schools and the communities they serve. A Night in D9 is designed not only as a celebration, but also as an opportunity for families to access vital educational resources and build meaningful connections.
A central feature of the event is the Resource Fair, running from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., which will bring together more than 100 schools, nonprofit organizations, and community partners. Families will be able to explore academic programs, extracurricular opportunities, student support services, and community initiatives aimed at promoting educational success and student well-being.
In addition to the resource fair, attendees can enjoy free food, live performances, and hands-on activities suitable for all ages. These interactive experiences help create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, encouraging families to engage with schools and community organizations in a meaningful way. From 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the evening will culminate with an Awards Ceremony honoring outstanding students and educators whose dedication and leadership have made a positive impact throughout District 9.
