Free Mobile Veterinary Clinic Arrives in Miami Beach
The Wellness on Wheels mobile clinic will provide free vaccines, microchips, deworming and other essential services for dogs and cats belonging to Miami-Dade residents.
Pet owners across Miami-Dade County will soon have another opportunity to access essential veterinary care at no cost. Miami-Dade County Animal Services is bringing its WOW (Wellness on Wheels) Mobile Veterinary Clinic to Miami Beach, where the fully equipped unit will provide free routine wellness services for dogs and cats for nearly three months.
The WOW Mobile will be stationed from Sept. 28 through Dec. 23 at 13th Street and Michigan Avenue, Miami Beach, FL 33139, behind the Flamingo Park Basketball Courts.
The program is designed to bring preventive veterinary care directly into communities where access to these services may be limited. Often described as “veterinary deserts,” these areas can leave pet owners facing challenges when trying to obtain affordable routine care.
Every few months, the mobile clinic moves to a different underserved area of Miami-Dade County and remains there for at least three months, helping provide more consistent access for local families and their pets.
Services available at no cost include vaccinations, microchipping, booster shots, deworming and flea prevention. The clinic can also provide referrals for spay and neuter surgeries.
For families facing rising household expenses, access to free preventive veterinary services can make an important difference. Routine vaccinations and parasite prevention can help protect animals from illness, while microchipping provides an additional safeguard that can help reunite lost pets with their owners.
No appointment is required. Services will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis until the clinic reaches its daily capacity, so residents planning to participate may want to arrive early.
The WOW Mobile will operate Monday through Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The clinic will be closed Thursday through Sunday and on Miami-Dade County-observed holidays.
The program is made possible through a vehicle donation and grant funding from Friends of Miami Animals Foundation Inc., supporting Miami-Dade County Animal Services’ efforts to expand access to pet wellness resources.
Beyond providing free veterinary services, Wellness on Wheels addresses one of the biggest obstacles some pet owners face: convenient access to preventive care.
Bringing these services directly into communities can help families care for their animals while supporting healthier pets throughout Miami-Dade.
