Join The Fun at a Night in D9: Community Event You Won’t Want To Miss!

Join us in “A Night in District 9,” an extensive resource fair and vibrant community celebration scheduled for April 15th, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The event will be held at the prestigious Miami Palmetto Senior High School, a renowned educational institution in the heart of our community.
This extraordinary gathering will host over 50 esteemed community-based organizations, local schools, and businesses around Miami-Dade County. These organizations will provide valuable knowledge and showcase a wealth of resources and services tailored to enhance our students’ and their families’ educational experience and personal growth.
Hosting this remarkable event aims to foster strong relationships between community members, educators, and local businesses.
“A Night in D9” is a space to celebrate the outstanding students, teachers, and community organizations in the south who are ready to put South Dade on the map. The event provides a means of awareness for the services and resources available to students and their families. It connects families with organizations that can help support their children’s education and overall well-being.
This year’s event will feature partnerships with the Miami-Dade County Public Library, the Florida Department of Transportation, the South Dade NAACP, and nonprofits like Achieve Miami, Kristi House, and Miami Connected.
In addition, two student-founded and run organizations, Volunteering Miami and Mentoring America, will join us this year. Nicklaus Children’s Health System will also provide health-related services and education throughout the fair.
The event will feature performances from students across District 9. Political representatives from the local, state and federal levels will join us on stage as we hand out awards to our top students and teachers.
If you want to participate in the resource fair, please sign up at www.luisasantos.com/anightind9, whether you can attend. Your response is much appreciated.
We encourage you to bring any materials, displays, or activations that will help you best showcase your organization’s mission and services.
Also, we believe “A Night in D9” will benefit Miami-Dade County students and families in several ways. It provides a space for recognizing student achievements and showcasing their talents, which helps to boost students’ self-esteem, increase their motivation, and encourage them to continue working hard. Families can feel more connected to the school district and the broader community by building community relationships across South Dade.
We hope to see you at “A Night in D9” on April 15th from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Miami Palmetto Senior High. Together, we can connect, serve, and celebrate our local community.
