Military and Civilians Connect at Homestead Military Appreciation Day
Specialized Vehicles, Food Trucks, Live Music & Fun for the Whole Family!
On Saturday, May 14th, Harris Field Park will showcase all things military from 2pm to 6pm as specialized military vehicles and interactive displays take over for the 9th annual Military Appreciation Day. The free community event will take place at Harris Field Park located at 1034 NE 8th Street and aims to better unify civilians with all branches of the military.
Military Appreciation Day will be a chance to enjoy food, drinks, live music, and performances while checking out vintage and modern military vehicles such as boats, weaponry, and other interactive displays. Attendees will also be treated to a K-9 demonstration by the Homestead Police Department, and games and activities inside the children’s area.
The Military Affairs Committee (MAC) will also offer a $10 food voucher to active military members, reserve members, and veterans with a valid military ID. The vouchers are picked up at the MAC tent and can be redeemed at the festival’s food trucks and other participating food vendors.
The event is a community effort organized by the City of Homestead in partnership with the Homestead Reserve Air Base, the Military Affairs Committee, Homestead Police, Best Studio Inn, the Seminole Theatre, and Homestead Main Street.
