Red Bull’s Batalla USA National Final Makes Its Way To The Magic City
Top 16 MCs will battle it out on October 8th at Soho Studios for a chance to represent the USA at the World Final in Mexico!
Red Bull Batalla, the world’s largest Spanish-language freestyle rap competition, is coming to Miami for the US National Final on Saturday, October 8, in Miami at Soho Studios. Fans will
witness a talented group of 16 MCs pass the mics across ruthless, bracket-style knockout rounds, brandishing their best wit, creativity, and quick-thinking in the hope of wowing the judges for both the glory of the National Champion title and the ability to advance to the World Final in Mexico City.
Three finalists from 2021 are returning for this year’s US Final — Reverse, McBetho, and MC Eckonn. ‘Reverse,’ who is the reigning US Batalla Champion and the local Florida MC powerhouse, returns this year to defend his title. Miami has played host to two other Red Bull Batalla US Finals in 2019 and 2020. There is an elite pool of MCs and judges in the US Finals, including fresh faces like Floridian Oner, who made it thru the L.A. regional qualifier as a last-minute alternate and out-rhymed everyone to win the top spot, J Luna, a civil engineer by day who bulldozed his way to this top group after a thrilling regional performance, and Pailot, an Argentinian tennis instructor living in Oklahoma who brought his A game at the Dallas Regional. Judges include Yartzi
(two-time US Champion), Cacha (legendary Argentinian freestyler), Latin Grammy nominee Gabylonia, Chuty (former Spanish Champion) and Moises (prominent freestyle organizer). Fans will also be able to see a performance from Arkano, a massive Spanish freestyler turned professional rapper.
The US Finals will be the second Red Bull Batalla event to happen in Wynwood this season, with the first happening just last week. Red Bull hosted the ‘Last Chance Cypher’ at UNKNWN in Wynwood, where over 80 MCs battled for the 16th and final spot in the US Finals after a competitor dropped out. MC ‘Heavy’, who participated in the Dallas qualifier this year, rose to the occasion and outlasted the other MCs and defeated MC ‘El Domi’ to snag the final spot. It will be his first time in the US Final.
In recent years, Red Bull Batalla has become the most important international improvisation battle event that unites the countries of Latin America and Spain. Fans will witness 16 finalist MCs come face-to-face for a chance to be crowned National Champion and represent the USA in the world’s most exhilarating Spanish-language rap battle.
The US Final event at Soho Studios is on Saturday, October 8th in Wynwood, Miami. Doors open at 7 PM and the battles begin at 8 PM. Tickets are available for purchase for $10.
