Miami-Dade County Parks reopens three community center fitness rooms

In keeping with Miami-Dade County COVID-19 New Normal guidelines for the reopening of wellness facilities, the Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department announces that community center fitness rooms at Goulds Park, Gwen Cherry Park and Oak Grove Park have reopened. Workout days and hours of operation vary by community center.
Goulds Park Community Center, 11350 SW 216 St., Miami; 305-255-2399. Fitness room hours: Monday-Friday, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $5 per month, plus tax and an annual registration fee of $12.
NFL-YET Center at Gwen Cherry Park, 7090 NW 22 Ave., Miami; 305-694-4889. Fitness room hours: Monday-Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.; and Saturday/Sunday., from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $5 per month, plus tax and an annual registration fee of $12.
Father Gerard Jean-Juste Community Center at Oak Grove Park, 690 NE 159 St., Miami; 305-944-8670. Fitness room hours: Monday-Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.; Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, closed. The cost is $5 per month, plus tax and an annual registration fee of $12.
Miami-Dade County Parks Director Maria I. Nardi commented “We are thrilled to be able to reopen these fitness facilities. Park spaces like these are essential to people in our community. They serve as hubs of health and wellness for improving physical, social and mental well-being and are aligned with our goal of providing park and recreation services that better lives. They provide a much-needed outlets for people to exercise, manage stress and engage with others. They connect people and parks for life. I highly encourage everyone to get out and experience our beautiful parks and exercise regularly.”
All COVID-19 New Normal Guidelines will be observed at this park, including requiring all Miami-Dade County Parks staff and visitors to wear facial coverings and to maintain social distance between individuals and separation between groups.
